About Donkey App
Comedy first. Drama later. Or preferably never.
Donkey App is a place built for jokes, laughs, ridiculous ideas, funny people, and the sort of humour that makes life feel a bit less heavy.
Why this exists
Donkey App started with a very simple thought: why is it so hard to find a good, user-friendly comedy website in English that just lets people enjoy humour without burying everything under clutter, nonsense, and digital chaos?
I know a lot of jokes. I know people who know even more jokes. And at some point the answer became obvious: stop looking for the perfect comedy platform and build one.
The world is serious enough already. News is serious. Work is serious. Bills are serious. Group chats are occasionally serious for no good reason. Sometimes people simply need a place to switch off, have a scroll, and laugh at something gloriously stupid.
What Donkey App is
Donkey App is a comedy-focused platform where people can share humour with other people. That is the whole point. If someone has a funny joke, they can post it. If someone knows a great one, they can share it. If someone has something silly, clever, ridiculous, sharp, absurd, or completely unnecessary but genuinely funny, this is the kind of place where it belongs.
So while the site currently focuses mainly on jokes, the bigger idea is much broader: a social platform built around comedy, where the content comes from the people using it, and where the main purpose is not outrage, not ego, not doomscrolling, but laughter.
In other words, this is social media with a sense of humour. Which already makes it more likeable than most social media.
Where it goes next
This is only the start. Right now the website is in its final stages of deployment, and the mobile app is also in the final stretch, with launch expected around the middle of April 2026.
After that, the plan is to grow beyond text jokes into memes, funny pictures, satire, grotesque humour, visual comedy, creator content, and eventually a much wider comedy ecosystem. The long-term vision is to build a proper home for comedy creators and comedy fans: a place where people can post funny content, build an audience, interact with users, and maybe even promote stand-up events, shows, projects, or whatever funny madness they are working on next.
The mission is deliberately wide open. If it makes people laugh, smile, snort, wheeze, or question what on earth they just looked at, it probably belongs somewhere in the future of Donkey App.
Humour, tone, and not taking life too seriously
Let’s be honest: humour is not always neat, tidy, and perfectly polished. Sometimes it is clever. Sometimes it is silly. Sometimes it is a bit weird. Sometimes it is cheeky. And yes, sometimes comedy wanders close to the edge, has a look over, and comes back laughing.
That does not mean the goal is to harm anyone. The spirit behind Donkey App is comedy, not hostility. It is meant to be funny. Not preachy. Not miserable. Not another place on the internet where everyone behaves as if they are attending a board meeting during a thunderstorm.
If you can laugh, you will probably enjoy it here. If you cannot laugh unless a legal team approves the joke first, this may not be your natural habitat.
How the business side works
Right now
At the moment, Donkey App is operating in a non-corporate model while the platform is being built, tested, improved, and prepared for launch. In plain English: it is still in build mode, still being polished, and still being pushed toward the finish line.
Near future
In the near future, this will become a for-profit project. There are no free launches, and there is very rarely such a thing as free comedy once a platform starts growing. That said, the plan is not to hide the website or app behind a paywall.
The idea is simple: keep the platform accessible and free to use, and support it through advertising. So the joke is free. The laugh is free. The scroll is free. The business model, however, is not charity.
In other words, users should be able to enjoy Donkey App without paying to enter, while the platform earns through ads rather than locking comedy behind a subscription wall. That feels like the fairest balance: open access for users, a realistic model for growth, and a future where the platform can actually keep running without pretending servers are powered by positive thoughts.
The mission
The mission of Donkey App is to build a central place for comedy online: a place for jokes, memes, funny pictures, satire, creators, communities, events, and everything else that exists for one noble purpose — making people laugh.
If the internet is going to eat everyone’s time anyway, it might as well be funny.
